Important USCIS Updates This Week
USCIS has announced several important changes that affect many applicants and employers. Here’s what you need to know 👇
🪪 End of Automatic Work Permit Extensions
USCIS has ended automatic extensions for certain Employment Authorization Documents (EADs).
If you currently have a pending EAD renewal, make sure to:
Check your case status on the USCIS website
Confirm your work authorization expiration date
Plan ahead to avoid any gap in employment
💳 Electronic Payments Now Required
Starting October 28, 2025, USCIS no longer accepts personal checks or money orders for most applications.
All paper filings must now include an electronic payment method:
💳 Credit or debit card — use Form G-1450
🏦 ACH debit (bank transfer) — use Form G-1650
💡 If you file your form online, you can still pay through your USCIS online account as before.
💰 New Parole Fee and Policy Updates
USCIS has also announced:
A new parole fee
An update to how age is calculated under the Child Status Protection Act (CSPA)
New guidance about the validity of certain marriages for immigration purposes
These changes may affect pending and future applications, so make sure to stay informed or reach out for legal advice if you’re unsure how these updates apply to you.
